When You Give What You’ve Got

When you give from the heart—whether it's your time, love, or energy—and others feel disappointed because it doesn’t match their expectations, that’s not your burden to carry- that’s not on You. Their expectations are theirs to manage. The truth is, when we place rigid expectations on others, we set ourselves up for disappointment. What purpose does it serve to expect something specific from someone else? Instead, learn to appreciate what people do offer, rather than dwell on what they don’t.

Scorekeeping and unmet expectations only limit joy and connection. Choose to give because it feels right for you—not because you’re hoping for something in return. (even if that something is hoping for a “thank you”) And in the same spirit, let others give in their own way, without placing demands on what that should look like.

Give what you’ve got and receive from others with an open heart and gratitude. ❤️
