Peace✨

NYE

It’s New Year’s Eve morning, and as I sit here reflecting on the year behind me and the year ahead, one word keeps coming to mind: Peace.

But what is peace, really?

The dictionary defines ‘peace’ as freedom from disturbance; tranquility and a state of quiet harmony. On paper, it sounds simple. In real life, it often feels much deeper—and harder to describe.

Is peace something we can define with words, or is it more of a feeling?

Peace isn’t always the absence of noise, stress, or responsibility. Life is busy. There is work to do, a business to run, relationships to nurture, and people who depend on us. Peace doesn’t mean everything is perfect or finished. Sometimes, peace exists right in the middle of the chaos.

As I prepare for the upcoming year, I find myself asking:
What can I do better?
How can I be better?

Between running a business, being a parent to adult children, and wanting to spend more intentional time with loved ones and friends, it can all feel overwhelming. This year I am being intentional with PEACE. When I begin to recognize the internal jitters of stress and overwhelm, I will say “peace” to myself. Having one word for a reset has been something I have practiced over the years. A reminder of all the ways I want to improve and grow as a person AND enjoy life more abundantly.

As I sit here enjoying my Christmas tree lights, I remember as a little girl admiring the Christmas tree and looking at all the different ornaments and picking my favorites. This morning I looking at the PEACE ornament and the PEACE ornament is looking at me! May Peace be with You. ⭐️
